La Oatmeal Stout de Davok es una cerveza compleja, dicho en criollo no es pa cualquiera, de sabor intenso, cuerpo moderado y espuma cremosa. Tiene un suave aroma a granos tostados con un marcado sabor a café. Dulzona como toda oatmeal, repasamos acá sus detalles.

La Oatmeal Stout de Davok es la primera cerveza que subimos al catálogo de Hops y por eso le tenemos un cariño especial.
Adicionalmente, cuando uno se incorpora al mundo de la cerveza artesanal desde el ángulo de las cervezas negras deja la vara muy alta, uno se pone exigente con todas las que Blonde, IPAs, APAs, etc, que se le cruzan por el camino, porque de una u otra manera tuvo sus comienzos es una gama de cervezas complejas, finas, anormales 🙂
Como toda Oatmeal estamos hablando de una cerveza negra dulce. Oatmeal viene de “Oat”, que en inglés significa avena. Y Stout es efectivamente el grupo o estilo de cerveza negra de la que deriva la susodicha de Davok.
Ya hablaremos a piachere y largamente sobre las Cervezas Stout en nuestra Guía de Estilos, por el momento mencionar que cuando estamos ante una cerveza muy oscura, fuerte, de alta fermentación originaria de Londres. Mas fuerte que las Porters (de ahí su origen) que con el agregado de avena se vuelven un poco mas dulces además del cambio de sabor que aporta este cereal.
En el caso particular de la Oatmeal Stout de Davok estamos ante una birra de bajo nivel alcohólico, tan solo 5,3%, (lo que en parte traiciona el origen del nombre pero eso es ya cuestión de puristas y purezas) y un IBU o nivel de amargo de 28 en 100.
Esta stout de Davok tiene algo de chocolate y sobre todo un fuerte aroma a café, tal como el Dios stout manda y espera de sus servidores.
Si te gustan las cervezas complejas, esas que te hacen pasar por una variedad de sabores y amargores en un solo trago, entonces las cervezas negras seguramente sean de tu preferencia y si a esa complejidad y sofisticación, se te ocurre agregarle un nivel mas de dulzor y complejidad, en una cerveza que además de todo esto sea sea aún tomable (¡y cómo!) entonces la Oatmeal Stout, que desde el diseño de su lata nos trasmite elegancia, es para vos.
Esta presentación en lata presenta además algunas características muy interesantes, y aunque la discusión sobre si botellas o latas es larga, extendida y poco entretenida en el mundo de la cervecería artesanal, ya que en ella se entremezclan desde factores de posibilidades de diseño hasta ecológicos, si debemos resaltar los beneficios de esta apuesta de Davok respecto a la conservación de su producto, uno de muy alta calidad, cuya conservación está garantizada por el envase. Además de lo que podríamos decir en cuanto al esmero que se nota los amigos de Cervecería Davok pusieron a las etiquetas, y costos de diseño añadidos a una apuesta como la que nos ofrecen, cuando bien podrían haberse o habernos conformado con etiquetas de bajo costo sobre latas desnudas, como hacen muchas otras cervecerías.
Sin dudas Davok prestigia sus ya prestigiosos líquidos divinos a través de sus latas.
Y ya sabemos gracias al estudio sobre tendencias en la cerveza artesanal de Uruguay que publicamos en el Observatorio de Hops, el impacto que tiene darle relevancia a este eslabón final de comunicación con el consumidor final.
